Performs technical engineering & safety review of construction plans, calculations & documents for structural integrity & code compliance; consults with professionals & the public concerning codes, building plans, & other building construction matters.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with elective coursework in Civil or Structural Engineering, be a registered P.E. in California & have experience using the current California Building Code & referenced standards to plan check various structures. They will have knowledge of building construction methods & materials & understand the principles of structural engineering & soil mechanics. The ideal candidate will also be able to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers, multi-task, & work in an environment that may have varying priorities for tasks & deadlines while having excellent customer service skills.
