Committee Mission & Charges Our mission is to improve concrete construction projects, whether new or existing. We accomplish this by finding and promoting the best information available, whether it is better project specifications, materials, best practices, quality control, code updates, etc. The concrete committee was formed, staffed, and began regular meetings in early 2020. Committee members come from all aspects of the industry – engineers, contractors, material suppliers, government agencies, etc. The topics in 2020-2022 have included a broad spectrum of advanced, state of the art industry information including concrete mix design, best practices for repair and protection, state of the art testing by maturity meters, teaming up with other industry associations like ACI and NRMCA, promoting safer buildings through the City of LA non-ductile concrete retrofit program, best practices for post tension and precast concrete structures. After the presentation, there is a very spirited Q & A session and sometimes we just have an open discussion meeting. The committee meets last Thursday of every month at 1:30pm, feel free to join us!
