Mr. James Gorbin is the Deputy Building Official at the City of Culver City Building Safety Division. He is a California licensed Civil Engineer, a California licensed Structural Engineer, an ICC Certified Building Official, a member of the ICC Los Angeles Basin Chapter Structural Committee, and a CalOES SAP Evaluator. Prior to joining City of Culver City, he worked in the private sector and at other local municipalities, practicing since 2005. Mr. Gorbin’s experience includes code interpretation, structural design of new buildings, and alterations of existing buildings, including seismic retrofit.
