Since joining Structural Focus in 2002, Wayne has been a keystone of the management team. He manages a diverse portfolio of projects including the design of new studio production facilities, tenant improvements for various creative offices, renovation and strengthening of historic buildings and evaluations and repairs of industrial buildings. Distinguished projects include Google Los Angeles Headquarters, YouTube Space LA, Hotel Shangri-LA, Sony Pictures Akio Morita Building and The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. The Wallis has gained national recognition by winning an Engineering News Record Best of the Best Award in 2014 and a National Council of Structural Engineers Associations Excellence in Structural Engineering Award in 2015. Wayne received his M.Eng. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998. Wayne is passionate about the need for structural engineers to communicate the greater mission of structural engineering, “building a better quality of life,” as envisioned by ASCE. He believes that structural engineers need to play a significant role in understanding and bringing together all the different systems of a project to deliver the best product to the client. His goal is to be a trusted advisor to all his clients. Wayne has been an active member of SEAOSC since 2000 and over four years ago he joined the SEAOSC Existing Buildings Committee working on updating the URM Design Guide. He served as a member of the SEAOSC Technical Advisory Group to the US Resiliency Council (USRC) and serves as Structural Focus’ USRC representative, a founding member of USRC. He is a certified USRC Professional Rater.
