OC Dinner Event - Wood Renaissance - from dream to reality

The adoption of new structural material for construction is lengthy and painful. The era of buildings up to nine stories high using wood has ended in early 1900th replaced with steel and concrete. The environmental concerns and development of modern wood materials paved the way for resurgence of wood as a competitive structural material for buildings typically constructed of steel and concrete. This presentation provides a historical overview, current developments and a glance into the future of modern wood construction.
