This special night of inspiration will remind longtime members and student members alike why structural engineering is such an important and powerful profession. Come hear inspiring stories of change-makers and trendsetters. This virtual event is offered at no charge to members to encourage everyone to attend and leave the evening inspired to do more for our communities.

The virtual event will also feature D&I Award presentation, student scholarship presentations, and a keynote address from Hilti's Alexis Clark on "The Benefits of Giving Back." Don't miss this chance to remind yourself why being a structural engineer matters.

Keynote Speaker

Alexis Clark, P.E., M.ASCE, Structural Engineering Product Manager at HILTI North America, has contributed to the industry she loves, structural engineering, in many ways over the course of her career. Her involvement in industry goes beyond technical contribution by serving at the local, state and national levels of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and empowering the next generation to pursue and succeed in STEM fields through her work as a Concrete Canoe judge, a tenured mentor for the ACE Mentor Program, and as President of the Board of Directors for The Girls interested in Engineering Math and Science (or GEMS) Camp in Texas.

Diversity & Inclusion at Buro Happold

As part of our commitment to pushing the conversation forward around what diversity and equity means for our firm and industry as a whole, Buro Happold employees started the Diversity and Inclusion Forum (DIF). The DIF exists as a commitment to achieving a more diverse and inclusive workplace environment, and to address the broader lack of diversity in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) industry. This presentation will highlight how the group plans, develops, and implements educational programs, activities, presentations and events, which aim to educate, engage and promote actions that lead to increased diversity in the engineering workforce.
