About the Speakers
BOB STEPHENS
Bob is a native of Southern California and has lived and worked in the greater Los Angeles area for his entire 36 year career. Bob has an Associate Arts degree from El Camino College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and is a graduate of the Executive Management Program at the UCLA Anderson School.
Since 1997 Bob has focused on Cast-in-Place concrete subcontracting completing nearly 40 projects including High Rise, Mixed Use, Parking Structures, Hospitals, Seismic Retrofit, Base Isolation, Commercial, Residential, Retail, and Architectural Concrete. Notable concrete projects Bob has managed include Pasadena City Hall Renovation/Seismic Upgrade, LAC+USC County Hospital Replacement, Olympic West Garage at LA Live, the Disney Concert Hall, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and currently he is the Project Executive for Largo Concrete overseeing structural concrete operations on the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA.
MARGAUX BURKHOLDER, P.E., S.E.
Margaux Burkholder is a licensed structural engineer with 12 years of design experience in the Los Angeles area. She has worked on a range of project types and has experience with high-rise and performance-based design, seismic retrofit and rehabilitation, multi-family residential, commercial, sports and entertainment. Margaux sits on the ACI Southern California Board of Directors, co-chairs the SEAOSC Women in Structural Engineering Committee and is an active member of the Concrete and Sustainability committees.
RYAN ANDERSON, SE, DBIA
Having been in the industry since 2007, Ryan has extensive design-build and construction site experience and specializes in the structural design of steel and concrete buildings in seismically active regions. His experience encompasses designs for a wide range of market sectors and building types including sports, aviation, education, entertainment, hospitality, commercial, seismic retrofit, and residential-among others. Ryan has played a key role in several landmark projects including a substantial sports and entertainment district on the west coast. He is also involved in the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and was previously active with the ACE Mentor Program.
