The Northridge 30 Earthquake Webinar - Episode 2: Insurance Issues and Impacts Following the Northridge Earthquake

  • April 23, 2024
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Zoom

The second episode of Northridge30's webinar series, "Insurance Issues and Impacts Following the Northridge Earthquake," will feature presenters Charles Scawthorn from Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center and Janielle Maffei of the California Earthquake Authority.

This series, "The Northridge Earthquake – 30 Years Later, A Catalyst for Engineering Resilient Communities" is part of a year-long campaign to recognize the devastating event, commemorate the progress made over the past three decades, and identify next steps for improving community resilience. The program was initiated with a successful in-person Symposium at Caltech on January 17, 2024 (seaosc.org/Northridge30). Previous episodes can be viewed online.

This campaign is a collaboration between the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Infrastructure Resilience Division, the ASCE Los Angeles Section, the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) Southern California Chapter, the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEOASC), and the Earthquake Country Alliance (ECA).
