The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) is a professional organization of Civil and Structural Engineers which also includes affiliated construction industry members and students. The association provides its members with the educational opportunities and the challenge to meet high standards of engineering excellence, and ethical and professional conduct in the design of structures and facilities within the broader field of civil engineering.

SEAOSC is one of the four regional member organizatons of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC). The other member organizations of the State Association are:

SEAONC    The Structural Engineers Association of Northern California
SEAOCC    The Structural Engineers Association of Central California
SEAOSD    The Structural Engineers Association of San Diego

Additionally, SEAOC is a Member Organization within the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA) which serves to advance the practice of structural engineering and, as the autonomous national voice for practicing structural engineers, protect the public’s right to safe, sustainable and cost effective buildings, bridges and other structures.  The individual members of each regional association are automatically members of the SEAOC and NCSEA.

SEAOSC Membership:

The Association's membership year is on an anniversary year.  Membership dues will renew annually on the anniversary of your original application.  A one-time $50 application fee is currently waived.

Memberships are held by the individual, not by a company. Therefore, even if your company has paid for your membership, if you leave that company, your membership belongs to you. Be sure to keep your member profile up-to-date with your current contact information so we can reach you!

Member Referral Program:

SEAOSC SE and PE Members can opt-in to the Referral Program for $100 annually during dues renewals, July 1- August 31. You may opt-in anytime by contacting the SEAOSC office at seaosc@seaosc.org.  A listing will appear on seaosc.org/referral which includes your name, license number, business address with corresponding Google map, and your selected categories.

Professional Development Program:

While California not does have mandatory continuing education for your license renewal, SEAOSC created this voluntary program to recognize and record members’ seminar attendance.  You can enroll for $50 annually during dues renewals (July -Sept).

Credit is issued for your attendance at qualifying dinner meetings, seminars and educational events based on 1 credit for each contact hour of continuing education. Thus, dinner meetings are worth one credit and educational programs are worth 1 credit for each hour of instruction.

Certificates are not issued for any program that qualifies as 1 credit (i.e. dinner meetings). The SEAOSC office maintains the attendance records of each participant in the program and in July issues a statement of participation indicating the participant’s total credits at the end of each year.  The program year coincides with SEAOSC’s fiscal year: July 1- June 30.

Note: PD Credits are good only for SEAOSC programs, not SEAOC, etc. Some states that require continuing education for license renewal may not accept these credits.  Non-members do not receive credit; members not enrolled in this program do not receive seminar credit.  Credits are not issued retroactively.

Membership Reinstatement:

If you were once a member of SEAOSC and now wish to reinstate your membership, your originally assigned Username (email address) and Password will still be valid. Please log-in and you will be prompted to reinstate your membership. (Forgot Password?) Don't forget to update your Member Profile to provide us with any changes to your contact information.
